The Small Firms Loan
Guarantee Scheme enables businesses with a
viable business plan, but lacking security
to borrow money from approved lenders.
The
scheme is a joint venture between the
Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) and
these lenders.
The scheme is available
to qualifying businesses in most market
sectors (but there are some restrictions).
It provides lenders with a government
guarantee against default in certain
circumstances. The borrower pays a premium
on the outstanding balance.
